Looking for lobster? Here are 13 shell-less lobster dishes to try in Tucson

Jun 15, 20184 min read

Ain’t nothin’ wrong with classic steamed lobster, drawn butter and lemon. But if you’re too lazy to disassemble a lobster, don’t fear.

Here’s a list of some restaurants who’ve made waves with their shell-less lobster dishes in Tucson.

Batch Cafe & Bar

118 E. Congress St.

A post shared by Batch Tucson (@batchtucson) on

Who would’ve thought that a donut cafe and bar would serve up a mean lobster dish? Well it’s true. Try their Mac & Cheese + Lobster or their Knuckle & Claw grilled cheese with lobster (obvs), mascarpone, provolone, and some healthy stuff.

For more information, visit batchtucson.com.

Besties Fish & Burger

14 W. Grant Rd.

Although it’s not in the name, Besties’ serves up lobster 4 ways. Their #4 Lobster Combo can be ordered Straight Up, Dip, Poured Over, or On the Side. Be sure to add a side of the Mac Bites.

For a Mambo No. 5 of seafood, order Captain Kade’s Seafood Basket with fried cod, lobster scampi, lump crab cake, two fried shrimp, two hush puppies, and fries.

For a premium take on tacos, Contigo’s Tacos de Langosta feature lobster, poblano feta cream, cabbage, mango habanero salsa, and a side of rice and beans.

Dante’s Fire

2526 E. Grant Rd.

From the Greed portion of their menu, Dante’s serves a Lobster Cannelloni made with a yellow corn sauce and Mushroom Thermidor. You’ll leave your tablemates envious.

Dumb Fish at American Eat Co.

You’d be dumb for not starting off your food journey with Lobster Puffs from Dumb Fish. Just another reason to visit the American Eat Co. on an empty stomach.

The Fix

943 E. University Blvd.

When you need your lobstah fix, be sure to try The Fix’s Lobster Classic Cheddar Mac with lobster and Swiss or try it Alfredo style. Or just do both and thank us later.

For more information, visit thefixaz.com.

Guadalajara Original Grill

1220 E. Prince Rd. • 7360 N. Oracle Rd.

With two locations, Guadalajara Original Grill makes it easy to indulge. Their Lobster Enchiladas are made with pan fried lobster pieces, rolled into soft corn tortillas, topped with their diabla blanca chipotle cream sauce. And if you need a more belt-friendly option, they’ve got a lobster stuffed salmon.

For more information, visit guadalajaraoriginalgrill.com.

The Grill at Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch Resort

5501 N. Hacienda Del Sol Rd.

Start your morning off like a rockstar: with Lobster Scramble Eggs, made with mascarpone cheese, and scallions, served with breakfast potatoes and toast. Leave room for wine popsicles.

HUB Restaurant & Ice Creamery

While the Lobster Roll pictured on the right is not officially on the menu, ask for it anyways. They’ll make it. The Lobster Pot Pie and Lobster Mac & Cheese come highly recommended for cheat meals and any day that ends in “y.”

Kingfisher

2564 E. Grant Rd.

Kingfisher serves up a Lobster Roll reminiscent of the kind of roll you’d find in a coastal city, which is really saying something seeing as how we’re in the desert. Their roll is made with Maine Lobster, scallions, peppers, celery, caper mayonnaise, and is served with shoestring fries and slaw.

MiAn Sushi & Modern Asian Cuisine

88 E. Broadway Blvd.

A post shared by MiAn Sushi (@miansushi) on

The new(ish) kid on the block has got your lobster needs covered. Try their Lobster Wasabi Cocktail, Lobster Potato Roll, or their Orange Jewel Roll.

For more information, visit miansushi.com.

The Parish

Sure it’s not in the traditional form, but who said you couldn’t enjoy lobster broth? Stick with the theme and try their P.E.I. Mussels with house-made lamb chorizo, lobster broth, fennel, and garlic rouille crostini.

Wildflower American Cuisine

Lobster’s not typically a diet food, but if it’s a Lobster Salad, you can’t argue with that. While the crispy potato is a little indulgent, enjoy the artichoke heart, grilled asparagus, and white truffle vinaigrette guilt-free. Note: it’s only on the lunch menu.

Between the pools, hot spring and cold plunge, water slide, yoga, live music, complimentary bike rentals, and their nostalgic “Summer Rewind” experience, there was always something to do. We never left the resort.

The highlight at their on-site restaurant, Epazote Kitchen & Cocktails, was the Pollo Con Rajas - perfectly cooked chicken over a rich creamed poblano, onion, and corn mestizaje. And if you’re at their Sundance Café for breakfast, get the pozole. It’s made from a family recipe that became such a guest favorite it earned a permanent spot on the menu.

Although El Conquistador licenses the Hilton brand, it’s owned and operated by a local company. The culinary team sources much of its meat and produce from Arizona.

Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or just looking for an incredible dinner with Catalina Mountain views, this spot is worth adding to your list. 🌵🌞
