The Parish, The Delta & Tucson Foodie team up for 2 Mardi Gras parties

Let the good times roll! On Fat Tuesday, February 21, The Parish and The Delta are hosting two Mardi Gras Festivals in partnership with Tucson Foodie.

Some of the Tucson Foodie team will be at The Delta’s event, which begins at 4 p.m., and The Parish’s party kicks off a little earlier at 1 p.m.

This year, both The Delta and The Parish will be featuring some of their all-time favorites like a crawfish boil (sold by the pound), a full alligator roast (sold by the quarter-pound), Cajun sampler plates, King Cake, face painters, and a handful of the best live music in town.

The full food menu and music schedule will be announced closer to the day of the events.

If you’re in the market to make your Mardi Gras Festival extra special (and permanent), there’s going to be pop-up tattoo shops by local tattoo artists Patience and Joey. They’ll have sheets of flash art you can pick from during the events.

Important ticket info

The Mardi Gras Festival at both restaurants is $15 per person and can be purchased at the door. All food and beverages are sold separately but each ticket comes with complimentary beads and a mini Hurricane or Abita draft beer.

Both parties are 21-and-over events but kids can come along with parental supervision, and anyone 12 years old and younger can get in for free (with parents, of course). All of the younger Fat Tuesday goers can stick around no later than 9 p.m.

Also, this event is festival style — first come, first served and there’s going to be open seating.

VIP Experience at The Delta

Come say hi to the Tucson Foodie team at The Delta, located at 135 S. Sixth Ave., because we’ll be running a small VIP entrance that’s limited to 50 people and an extra $5.

Beaux Dingus is going to be at The Delta, too, offering Crawfish Peeling Demos, walking around the room with Mardi Gras trivia questions, and hosting the event.

At a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.

He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.

Although El Conquistador licenses the Hilton brand, it’s owned and operated by a local company. The culinary team sources much of its meat and produce from Arizona. 

Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or just looking for an incredible dinner with Catalina Mountain views, this spot is worth adding to your list. 🌵🌞
