It’s not necessarily a locally-owned restaurant, but the city of Tucson is now one of the select cities participating in the soda pop-themed experience.
Starting Friday, May 7, Pepsi is debuting its virtual restaurant named Pep’s Place, which is a delivery-only pop-up that’s collaborating with the Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que at 3007 E. Speedway Blvd.

Pep’s Place is part of a new national campaign happening in select cities around the nation for a limited time. So, you may be wondering what exactly this means and if you can still order grub from the regular menu at Famous Dave’s. You still can.
You can also order something hand-picked by Pepsi if you’re feeling indecisive.
Here’s how it works:
- Choose one of the six Pepsi drinks on the menu
- Your selection will then prompt suggested food pairings
- Here’s an example: Choose the Pepsi Mango and it’s possible Pep’s Place will recommend the mild chile flavor of its Buffalo wings
- From there, it’ll be delivered to your home or any other address you share
Other items on the menu include burgers, salads, ribs, and chicken sandwiches. Plus, they’ve got sides such as mac and cheese, chips, and brownies.
Keep in the mind, it’s only available for a limited time and you can’t order in person at Famous Dave’s. You’ll have an option to order through Pep’s Place website as well as through DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub for the next 30 days.

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
