[2026 update: Senae Thai Street Food has closed indefinitely]
The holidays tend to be magical and for many Tucsonans, the news of Senae Thai’s return is the best gift anyone could ask for.
Owner of the Senae Thai food truck, Dee Buizer, has teamed up with Julie and Ben Vernon of Crooked Tooth Brewing, making the patio at 228 E. Sixth St. its permanent location.
“Senae Thai is back in Tucson,” Buizer shared. “Senae Thai street food is ready to serve you from our new food truck located at Crooked Tooth Brewing on Sixth Street, Tucson, offering a limited menu but still so delicious!”
To celebrate the big move, Chef Buizer will be at the food truck on Friday, December 20 from 5 – 9 p.m. “Come on down and say hi.”

Quick History of Dee Buizer
She grew up in Bangkok, Thailand, a city known for its diverse food scene. She opened her first restaurant, Sweet Basil, in Berkeley, California, more than 35 years ago. Since then, with help from her family, she’s opened several more restaurants in California, Maryland, and Arizona.
In 2016, Buizer opened Senae Thai Bistro in downtown Tucson and decided to close the restaurant in July 2021.
Last year, she began popping up with one-night-only experiences at other local businesses like MotoSorona Brewing and Saffron Indian Bistro, where she hosted a special R&D Dinner.
Now, she and the small team are excited to stay put on Crooked Tooth Brewing’s beautiful, spacious, and cozy patio.
Of course, the menu is smaller than what the Bistro used to offer, but expect new additions to the menu now and again.
The food truck will be open from 5 – 9 p.m. on Wednesday – Sunday. Order at Crooked Tooth’s bar, where you’ll find a menu.
Senae Thai food truck is located at Crooked Tooth Brewing, 228 E. Sixth St. For more information, follow Dee Buizer on Instagram and Crooked Tooth Brewing on Instagram.

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
