Get that napkin tucked into the collar of your shirt because the vegan powerhouse on wheels is stopping by the Old Pueblo.
The plant-based junk food truck by Vuture Food is making its annual trip to Tucson on Saturday, October 29. The sandwiches, which look like they’re straight out of an old Carl’s Jr. commercial, will be served from 1 – 5 p.m. out in front of Tap & Bottle at 403 N. Sixth Ave. #135.

Like in previous years, there will not be any pre-orders and they’re accepting both credit cards and cash. Also, the menu will be shared the morning of the event, but you can expect to find Crispy Chik’n Sandwiches and Loaded Fries comin’ in hot.
Additionally, Vuture Food posted the following on Facebook:
“We cook all of our items in oil that contains soy. We are entirely nut-free. All of our loaded fries are made with GF ingredients. Our patties are made from a combination of soy, wheat, and peas.”
To wash it all down, Tap & Bottle has tons of great local, regional, and national beers on tap. Also, don’t forget to check out the multiple fridges to be sure you get a brew that’ll pair perfectly with your grub.
If you’re craving even more beverages, Crooked Tooth Brewing Company is right around the corner and The Royal Room is serving up craft cocktails left and right.

Back in 2018, the food truck out of Northridge, California started serving up vegan burgers and fries. After high demand from all over the country, Vuture Foods ventured out to festivals all over the continental U.S. and built relationships with breweries on the road. As of late, the company has three teams that visit more than 50 different cities all year long — Tucson being one of them.
Tap & Bottle is located at 403 N. Sixth Ave. #135. For more information, follow Vuture Food on Facebook.

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
