Summer Inspired Chef’s Dinner at Wildflower

Jul 16, 20141 min read

Fox Restaurants’ Wildflower is offering a summer-inspired chef’s dinner prepared by executive chef Omar Huerta. The July 28 6:00 pm dinner will offer guests five courses with wine pairings from around the world.

The set menu includes:

  • Kusshi Oyster – Avocado Tartar-Yuzu Snow-Thai Basil
  • Pork Rillette – Pickled Summer Berries-Smoked Pistachio-Fennel Toast
  • Sea Trout – Crispy Corn Rigatoni-Tomato Pistou-Bacon Jus
  • Duck Breast – Beluga Lentil “Bourguignon”- Meyer Lemon-Horseradish Root
  • Cherry Tart – Chocolate Curd-Marzipan-Toasted Meringue

“We wanted to celebrate the mid-point of summer with something special, something that uniquely represents our commitment at Wildflower to creating exceptional menus that our guests can’t find elsewhere,” stated Omar Huerta, Executive Chef.  “This was a fun menu to put together in which we were able to celebrate different mains with a summer twist – we believe this is one reason why our guests keep returning,” he concluded.

Reservations are requested.  The seating is at 6:00 pm and price is $55.00 per person, tax and gratuity excluded.

Wildflower American Cuisine is located at 7037 N. Oracle Road on the SW corner of Ina Rd. and Oracle Rd. For more information visit www.wildflowertucson.com

IOU Sushi III has closed. The all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant on North Oracle Road announced the news on Facebook after about 10 years in Tucson. “This is the hardest post I’ve had to write,” the owners said. The post continued, “we have met some great friends who have become family to us.” Tucson Foodie first visited the restaurant in 2017, when it operated as IOU Sushi IV.

Anne Rysdale built @sheltercocktaillounge in 1961 with concrete walls, lava rock, and Cold War nerves. Today, owners Pam Santangelo and Kevin Breutzmann keep the Tucson bar exactly as regulars remember it. Inside, martinis share space with JFK memorabilia, a vintage atomic chandelier, and a suit of armor named Charlie. “Tucson is changing so much, but this has stayed the same. It’s a time capsule,” Santangelo said.
