Saint House Rum Bar Gets Fun, Laid Back Makeover

If you walked by Saint House on any night this summer you probably heard Caribbean beats flowing out of the spacious interiors. Owners Travis Reese and Nicole Flowers always wanted their restaurant to be a fun place to enjoy island-inspired food and drinks, and when the restaurant opened last August, the vibe was a little more upscale and formal (think South Beach chic).

But, after feedback from guests who wanted more of an island getaway in their desert town, the restaurant has undergone a full on makeover, inspired by the laid back vibe of the tropics.

“People drink rum to have fun,” said Reese. “People visit the tropics for an experience unlike their normal, everyday lives. We wanted to create something a little more exotic and a lot more fun.”

To start, they’ve changed their name to Saint House Island Bistro & Rum Bar and are offering a new happy hour with 1/2 off sharing plates, $3 craft beer, $5 cocktail specials and $4 wine specials.

Saint House now features a whole new menu with dishes such as ceviche, street tacos, catfish and shrimp, citrus-cured conch chowder, seared ahi tuna salad, and passion fruit chicken, while the interior makeover includes fresh paint, tropical plant installations and tropical plants around the restaurant from La Fleur Plantscapes.

“Our industry is all about service,” added Flowers. “We hope the updates we’ve made to Saint House create an even better, more appealing space to enjoy food and drinks with friends.”
