Where’s Waldo in Tucson? Find Him For a Chance to Win Prizes

July 10, 2023
By Matt Sterner

Many of us grew up with “Where’s Waldo” — that fellow with the red and white striped shirt and beanie. Some refer to his beanie as a stocking cap. And, speaking of different names for the same things, did you know he’s known as Wally in the UK, Walter in Germany, Holger in Denmark, and Charlie in France?

Well, Waldo (or whatever you’d like to call him) is hiding in various local businesses around Tucson, and the month of July is the prime time to find his whereabouts. The sneaky guy is currently hiding throughout downtown Tucson, Main Gate Square, Fourth Avenue, Midtown, and the Mercado District.

If you find him inside the participating local businesses, there’s a chance you’ll win some sweet prizes.

Plus, Waldo is hiding out inside a few local foodie spots, too, including Ceres Pasta, Casa Video & Film Bar, Coffee Times Drive-Thru, Food Conspiracy Co-Op, and Westbound. Heck, The Loft Cinema even sells local craft beer and wraps from Cafe Desta so be sure to grab a bite, catch a movie, and hopefully a Waldo sighting.

Here’s How it Works:
  • Pick up a free Waldo Passport at Antigone Books to get started.
  • Find the six-inch cardboard Waldo and collect a stamp from an employee of the local business.
  • When you collect 20 stamps, bring your Waldo Passport back to Antigone Books.
  • You’ll then be entered to win some prizes including “Where’s Waldo” merchandise and goodies from participating local businesses.
More Important Details:

The deadline to turn in your Waldo Passport is Sunday, July 30 at 5 p.m.

The summer favorite scavenger hunt encourages children to limit screen time while supporting local businesses in Tucson.

Head over to Antigone Books, located at 411 N. Fourth Ave., to pick up your Waldo Passport. For more information, visit fourthavenue.org.
