Eating on the Cheap: National Pizza Day Special at Fentonelli’s

February 8, 2024
By Matt Sterner

Snagging a deal is one of my favorite things, and getting a deal on a national food holiday is right up there on my list of “favorite things to do when I’m saving money.”

Friday, February 9 is National Pizza Day, and Fentonelli’s Pizzeria & Bar at 7262 N. Oracle Rd. is celebrating with a special, limited-time, one-day deal: A slice of pizza and a soda for $6.

Head into the northside restaurant from 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. to get the $6 slice of pizza and soda combo, which can either be a cheese, pepperoni, or the daily special. Heck, you can even go to Fentonelli’s twice — once for lunch and another time for dinner if you’re a cheapskate like me.

Tyler Fenton, who’s also the mastermind behind downtown’s Reilly Craft Pizza and Drink and BATA, opened this northside location in 2021 as Reilly North but then renamed the restaurant to Fentonelli’s in February 2023.

As the story goes, when Fenton’s parents began dating 40 years ago, his Italian mother worried that her grandmother would disapprove of a non-Italian suitor. In a way to appeal to her nonna, she claimed that his last name was Fentonelli. The story remains a laughing point for the family and its playfulness of it lends itself to the spirit behind the restaurant.

Fentonelli’s has some new menu items, too! The team soft-launched the newness on Thursday, February 8, which includes five new pizzas and a new dessert — the Cinnamon Sugar Zeppole.
