February 21, 2024
By Matt Sterner

From 7 – 10 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, Blax Friday is once again hosting the monthly Soul Food Wednesdays market in downtown Tucson.

The local event has been popping up in different spots around town and this time they’re setting up inside the Playground found at 278 E. Congress St.

“We are back! This will be our largest amount of food vendors this month,” said Ashley La Russa of Blax Friday. “Super excited as well to partner with On the Fly Kitchen this month, they will be utilizing the Playground’s kitchen for their menu.”

Blax Friday, a community organization that got its start in the summer of 2020, shines a light on Black-owned businesses throughout Arizona. Some of the local and regional food options at this Wednesday’s event include Pacaw’s Wings & Things, D’s Island Grill Ja, Cooking Wit Cort, and Cute & Classy Krispies (just to name a few).
