Samurai Sombrero, the beloved food truck that fuses Mexican and Japanese cuisine in every sushi roll, is expanding its reach here in Tucson. Owners and chefs Gabby Delgadillo and Jesus Oleta are moving into American Eat Co. at 1439 S. Fourth Ave.
“We’re expanding! I want to thank everybody who has been supportive,” said Delgadillo. “If it weren’t for everybody, this wouldn’t be possible. We truly appreciate and love you guys!”

Stay tuned for the official opening date but they’re aiming to open on Tuesday, March 26, which is always subject to change.
After the new location opens, the food truck will temporarily close for just a couple of weeks.
After that, they’ll both be open — serving up delights like the Sombrero Roll or the Death Free Foodie Roll (a collaboration roll with @deathfreefoodie)(a combination of creamy avocado, crisp cucumber, and lightly fried tempura jalapeños, and crowned with a duo of baked chef’s special sauce and vegan eel sauce).

Samurai Sombrero is joining other local businesses at American Eat Co., including GM Kitchen 86, Fatboy Sandos, Walter’s Pizzeria, Tacoson, Adis, Market Bar, Cafe Con Leche, and Monster Sonoran.
In Other News…
Samurai Sombrero recently set up shop at The Pit, which closed its location at 22nd Street and Pantano Road on December 31, 2023. The Pit is currently working on relocating and rebranding as Truck To Table at its new location, 3333 E. Grant Rd.
Construction is currently underway and they’re hoping to reopen this spring.
Samurai Sombrero is moving into the spot formerly known as The Coop, which is a CowPig concept. Don’t worry, though! The Coop has some big plans that have yet to be revealed so keep an eye on their next move.
