On Friday, April 19, Dave’s Hot Chicken is opening its second Tucson area location at 3915 W. Costco Dr., which used to be a Burger King.

Dave’s Hot Chicken is known for its Hot Chicken Sliders and Tenders, which are served in seven spices that range in intensity levels. Folks can choose from No Spice to Reaper, which requires a signed waiver. Menu items also come paired with their classic sides like mac n’ cheese, fries, kale-slaw, and other small bites.

The hours of operation at the new Marana location are expected to be 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. on Sunday – Thursday and 11 a.m. – midnight on Friday and Saturday.

The Spicy Story

It all started with four friends who gathered up $900 to set up a small stand in an East Hollywood parking lot.

They had a simple menu and debuted their spicy chicken tenders. One of the owners created some buzz on Instagram which led to Eater paying a visit and pumping out an article the next day. Following in the footsteps of numerous Tucson food trucks and carts, this food stand transitioned into a brick-and-mortar establishment and has been establishing itself in various states since 2017.
