If Forrest Gump could speak French, he’d tell you that la vie est comme une boĂ®te de chocolats. Then, he’d probably suggest you go get your own box of chocolates to eat. This is all speculation, of course, but what we do know is that Le Macaron French Pastries is hosting something special centered around chocolate.
In downtown Tucson, the shop is offering a “Taste of Chocolate” workshop at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, where you’ll sample various types of chocolate, and learn about production methods and flavor profiles.
You’ll explore the world of chocolate with Kimberly Briggs, your guide and chocolatier/confectioner.
When Briggs was 16, her mother signed her up for her first chocolate class and she never looked back. Kimberly is originally from Wisconsin where she was a chef, who cooked for Reggie White of the Green Bay Packers. Then, she moved to Tucson, reinventing herself as a nurse. She never lost her love and affection for food and desserts, though.
This event is both educational and fun, offering a deeper appreciation for this beloved treat.
Seats in the “Taste of Chocolate” workshop are $25 per person. Size is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance.

Le Macaronis was opened by the local franchisee, Happy Cookie LLC, and is owned by the Haggart family – Stacy, Gary, and their five kids – and serves a selection of treats including macarons (of course), European gelato, espresso, croissants, fine chocolates, other pastries, and more.
