Asian Spice in Marana is One of the ‘Top 100 Chinese Restaurants’ in the U.S.

It’s nearly the end of the year and Yelp is ready to celebrate, releasing its annual list of “Top 100 Chinese Restaurants” in the U.S.

“Chinese food is made for sharing—especially during the holiday season when friends and family gather to enjoy the warm, flavorful dishes of this popular cuisine. Yelp searches for Chinese restaurants typically spike every December, as people look for cozy meals. In 2023, the highest number of searches were on Christmas Day.”

Here in the Tucson area, just one local restaurant made the list: Asian Spice in Marana, located at 7850 N. Silverbell Rd. #144. in the same shopping strip as Fry’s Food and Drug.

Asian Spice came in at #53 out of 100.

When making the list, Yelpers identified businesses in the Chinese category that are not part of a national chain and then ranked those spots using factors like the total volume and ratings of reviews.

“While most of Tucson’s better Chinese restaurants specialize in Sichuan cuisine, one northwest Tucson restaurant has demonstrated exceptional Canton experience,” Jackie Tran, local foodie and chef, once said about Asian Spice. “The dishes at Asian Spice aren’t unique or new, but you’ll think ‘this is how this dish should taste’ after your first bite.”

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. on Monday – Friday and from noon – 8:30 p.m. on Sunday (the kitchen closes each day at 8 p.m.). Asian Spice is usually open on Saturday, but during the holidays from now until the first week of January, they’ll be closed that day.

At a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating.
