It’s 2025 and there’s a whole new lineup of events in the works at Casa Video & Film Bar, located at 2905 E. Speedway Blvd. If you’ve been to the longstanding video store and craft beer and wine bar in recent months, you’re well aware of ODD DOGS.
The punk rock hot dog cart has been pulling up to Casa Video now and again, serving its longer-than-the-bun Franks like the Gas Station Dressed (your classic Circle K-style hot dog on steroids) and the Walker Texas Wiener. The latter is a meaty double-whammy loaded with pulled pork.
So, now that it’s the new year, how about a little extra fear to rattle your bones?
Throughout January, Nate of ODD DOGS is teaming up with the Casa Video crew every Sunday for “Spooky Sundays.”
The video store will screen hand-selected films at 7 p.m. each Sunday in January while ODD DOGS vends hot dogs from 6 – 10 p.m. First up is “Drag Me To Hell” on Sunday, January 5.
Plus, there’s going to be prizes! Right before each film, they’ll have a brief trivia related to all things spooky. Get there early for a good seat!
The other movies in the queue are “Insidious,” “The Ring,” and “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.”
Follow Casa Video and ODD DOGS on Instagram for the schedule/airtimes.
Casa Video celebrated the Film Bar’s 10th anniversary on New Year’s Eve. Also, in 2023, the video store had its 40th anniversary as a business (they’re now on year 41 and going strong).
In the year 2000, Casa Video had already become such a well-known treasure that Blockbuster tried to purchase the store. Luckily, the owners stuck to their roots and chose to keep Casa a Tucson staple.
Casa Video and Film Bar is located at 2905 E. Speedway Blvd. For more information, visit casafilmbar.com and follow the video store and taproom on Facebook and Instagram.
