Tucson’s reputation as a top dog in the culinary scene keeps drawing attention — not just nationally but globally. Folks travel here to taste goodies from local restaurants, and now, more and more national chains are joining the scene to feed the crowds.
Coming soon: The New York-based fast-casual chain Shake Shack is aiming to open its very first Tucson location in 2026.
The new location is expected to open at 3105 N. Campbell Ave., just south of East Fort Lowell Road, according to a lease report that was finalized on Monday, March 31.
This particular spot used to be the long-time space for Fabrics That Go. The local store was on Campbell for decades before moving to 2600 N. Stone Ave. Larsen Baker purchased the property back in January with plans to redevelop the site into a new strip for a restaurant (we now know it’s Shake Shake) and retail shops.
You can see a mockup of the new retail strip here.
In the meantime, don’t forget to support your local burger joint.

Shake Shack began as a hot dog cart in New York City’s Madison Square Park in 2001, and now there are more than 400 locations around the world.
Its menu features Angus beef burgers, crispy crinkle-cut fries, and hand-spun milkshakes. They’ve got options like the classic ShackBurger, Shroom Burger (stuffed with cheese), and spicy chicken sandwiches.
