Father’s Day 2026: Food, Music & More for Dad in Tucson

Father’s Day 2026: Food, Music & More for Dad in Tucson

Jun 17, 20266 min read

Save the grilling for another day. This Father’s Day brings special dishes, rum punch, and meal deals big enough to feed the whole family.

Father’s Day falls on Sunday, June 21, this year, and Tucson restaurants are rolling out brunch buffets, whiskey pairings, and steak specials to match. Reservations fill up fast at several spots, so call ahead or book online before the big day.

Is your dad hard to shop for? Does he have everything he could possibly need, including all your love? If you’re looking for a gift that just keeps giving, might we suggest a Tucson Foodie membership? It’s all that and a bag of chips.

Keep in mind that we’ll be adding to the list each day leading up to Dad’s big day, so check it occasionally if you haven’t found the perfect meal for your parent.

The regular menu stays available all day, and reservations are recommended.

More about Matt

At a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.

He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.

If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.

Between the pools, hot spring and cold plunge, water slide, yoga, live music, complimentary bike rentals, and their nostalgic “Summer Rewind” experience, there was always something to do. We never left the resort.

The highlight at their on-site restaurant, Epazote Kitchen & Cocktails, was the Pollo Con Rajas - perfectly cooked chicken over a rich creamed poblano, onion, and corn mestizaje. And if you’re at their Sundance Café for breakfast, get the pozole. It’s made from a family recipe that became such a guest favorite it earned a permanent spot on the menu.

Although El Conquistador licenses the Hilton brand, it’s owned and operated by a local company. The culinary team sources much of its meat and produce from Arizona.

Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or just looking for an incredible dinner with Catalina Mountain views, this spot is worth adding to your list. 🌵🌞
