Embrace the bounty of chiles right before the beginning of autumn at the 14th Annual Chile Festival September 15 – 17.
The event begins Friday, September 15 at Trail Dust Town and continues the next day, Saturday, September 16 at the Oro Valley Farmers Market, finishing with the Grande Chile Fiesta on Sunday, September 17 at the Rillito Park Farmers Market.
Vendors will have on hand a variety of chile-themed specialties such as freshly-roasted green chiles, chile spices, tamales, salsas and more. Furthermore, live music will be performed all three days.
Saturday at the Oro Valley Farmers Market will feature executive pastry chef Daniel Mangione of the Ritz Carlton, Dove Mountain.
The Grande Chile Fiesta on Sunday will feature a chef demonstration by Maria Mazon, owner and chef of BOCA Tacos y Tequila. Additionally, Mariachi Estrellas de Tucson will provide live music.
If you want to bring the flavor home, pre-order fresh roasted Hatch chiles from Kris Young of Red’s Roasters to be picked up at any of the three locations by calling (520) 409-3406. The deadline for orders is Wednesday, September 13.
