One of the best things about bar-hopping is having a designated driver to take you around. Plus, if you pull up in a huge bus, everyone in the area will know you mean business.
United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona’s Young Leaders United (YLU) is hosting the popular Dive Bar Bus Tour from 5 – 11 p.m. on Saturday, November 16.

The tour takes you to multiple dive bar gems (there were five participating bars last year), which have yet to be announced.
“Every dollar raised supports United Way’s mission to empower youth in Tucson’s community. Let’s dive into fun with purpose!”
Get your tickets!
Early Bird Tickets (from now until the end of the day on Wednesday, October 16) are $30 per person.
Then, from Thursday, October 17 – Thursday, November 14, the tickets will be $35 each. If you wait longer than that to purchase your seat on the bus, tickets will be $40 per person.

“The YLU Dive Bar Bus Tour is a fun and engaging fundraiser where participants visit some of the best dive bars in Tucson. It’s a great way to support some of our favorite local establishments, raise funds for community impact, and enjoy a night out with friends!”
Most of the bars on the route (they’ll be announced soon) provide a drink special for the Dive Bar Bus Tour group.
Space is limited so get your tickets soon!
Giving Back to United Way
Young Leaders United raises funds for local “opportunity youth” and the members aged 16-24 years old who are currently not engaged in school or work. The money raised supports access to resources like hygiene supplies, bus passes, and programs like workforce readiness training and GED support.
Therefore, the Dive Bar Bus Tour is a great opportunity to meet new people who are also passionate about supporting youth.

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
