The 2026 HSL Properties Tucson Jazz Festival returns Jan. 16 through 24 with concerts, education, and free events across Tucson. More than 20 performances anchor the nine-day celebration, including the popular Downtown Jazz Fiesta. The festival continues its mission of connecting live jazz with community engagement.
Presented by HSL Properties, the Tucson Jazz Festival blends national talent with local artists and accessible programming. Events take place at venues across the city, with a strong focus on downtown Tucson. Organizers designed the schedule to welcome longtime jazz fans and first-time listeners alike.
Downtown Jazz Fiesta Highlights Tucson Jazz Festival
The free Downtown Jazz Fiesta takes over Corbett’s at 340 N. Sixth Ave. from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19 with nonstop music on two stages. Local food trucks and Corbett’s kitchen will also serve food throughout the day. For a list of specials, click here.
Cha Wa headlines the event with a sound rooted in New Orleans brass bands and Mardi Gras Indian traditions. The group blends deep funk grooves with street-culture energy.
“Mardi Gras Indian songs are inherently songs about freedom,” drummer Joe Gelini said. “That struggle is as relevant today as it’s ever been.”
Downtown Jazz Fiesta Performance Schedule
The Downtown Jazz Fiesta features a full day of performances by local and national artists. Music runs continuously on the Corbett’s Stage and Mainstage. The schedule offers a wide range of styles, from student ensembles to nationally touring bands.

Community Outreach Defines Tucson Jazz Festival Mission
Education remains central to the Tucson Jazz Festival’s mission. Visiting artists will lead outreach programs in schools, neighborhoods, and community spaces throughout the week. These programs aim to spark curiosity and creative confidence in young audiences.
“Every time we bring world-class artists into a classroom, you can feel something shift,” executive and artistic director Khris Dodge said. He added that these moments often create lasting connections between students and music.
Education Programs and Special Events
During their visit, Cha Wa will headline a school cookout at John B. Wright Elementary School. Partners include UA School Garden Workshop, TUSD Food Services, and Vantage Credit Union. The event celebrates culture, food, and shared music experiences.
Children’s Museum Tucson will host a field trip program for first through fifth grade students. Furthermore, young professional musicians will lead an interactive performance that encourages improvisation and participation. Follow-up activities will extend learning beyond the visit.
Award-Winning Artists Add Global Spotlight
Several Tucson Jazz Festival performers recently earned major industry awards. For example, Hamilton de Holanda won Best Latin Jazz Album at the Latin Grammys for Live in NYC. The honor marked his fourth Latin Grammy win.
Grammy Award winners in the 2026 lineup include Gerald Clayton, Sullivan Fortner, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Bill Charlap. Their recognition adds international prestige to the Tucson Jazz Festival roster.
