It’s a beautiful time in Tucson when the fall season rolls in and Antsy Nancy is keeping things festive this year. From 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, owner Heidi Yribar and the creative team are hosting a charcuterie board and sangria workshop at 5655 E. River Rd. #101.
During the class, you’ll learn tips and tricks to create a crowd-pleasing, fall-inspired charcuterie board.

“We’ll pair perfect meats, cheeses, fruits, and crackers to taste as spectacular as our board looks. Our Sangria recipe begins with mulling spices of cinnamon, cloves, star anise, and all-spice, giving this Sangria a taste you’ll fall for!”
Students who are at least 21 years old are welcome to bring their own wine, champagne, beer, etc. to enjoy during class. Please see Antsy Nancy’s BYOB policy for more details.
Seats in the class are $75 per person and can be purchased online.
What you will learn:
Attendees will learn tricks and techniques for building a charcuterie board that is aesthetically appealing, seasonally inspired, and crowd-pleasing delicious. Meats, cheeses, fruits, crackers, nuts, and chocolates are selected to taste great together and complement Fall colors and flavors.
Each attendee works with a personal-sized board, along with a generous sampling of the ingredients used during the demonstration. The best part: guests are encouraged to enjoy the demonstration board and may opt to wrap their own board to save for later.
What to expect:
Upon check-in, students are provided aprons and storage for personal items before visiting the handwashing station. Students will be seated in a thoroughly cleaned and sanitized workspace and given seating request preference, when available. Tools and materials will be distributed before the instructor takes the class step-by-step through the successful board execution.

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
