Anthony Bourdain has a dream job for many folks, and while glamorous, it’s not as easy as it looks.
Saying that something “tastes good” is acceptable on a Yelp review, but it’s not descriptive food writing. Skillful food writing doesn’t only convey flavors, it also vividly shares memories and experiences.
To learn the craft from a seasoned professional, check out Edie Jarolim’s Introduction to Food Writing course at the Jewish Community Center from 5:30 – 7 p.m. on November 1, 8, 15, and 29.
Jarolim’s food articles have appeared in notable publications such as Edible Baja Arizona, Phoenix Magazine, Sunset, and Zagat. She’s also contributed to Tucson Foodie.
Classes are $85 for the general public, $75 for JCC members.
