If you’re tired of scrolling through Netflix and coming up empty-handed, feast your eyes on these films. Each of these stories focuses on the future of our local food economy, all while inspiring Arizonans to be more involved in building a more equitable and sustainable food system.
The Good Food Film Series’ winter collection documents stories from across Arizona’s food producers and asks the question, “How local food can make a difference in our communities?”

Like previous years, the film series is produced by Local First Arizona’s Good Food Finder. The films explore how local farmers survived the pandemic and the power local food can play in building a stronger food economy — all available to stream in the comfort of your home.
“Our final installment of the Good Food Film Series focuses on the future of our local food economy and how we can get involved in building a more equitable and sustainable food system that supports our Arizona communities,” said Somlynn Rorie, manager of food and farms initiatives at Local First Arizona.

Nearing the end of its current run, this is the last set of films in the Good Food film series. Additionally, it’s said to be an impressive recap of all that has been showcased throughout the string of movies.
“The film series has introduced many local food players and the work they are doing to safeguard our ability to nourish and feed Arizonans,” said Rorie. “As we close out the series, the question remains: What happens when our farmers disappear and we no longer have local farmers and are reliant on food that is processed and brought out of state?”

More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating.
