Local First Arizona is welcoming the Arizona Farmer + Chef Connection event back to Tucson on Monday, September 12 at the Tucson Convention Center.
The seventh annual Farmer + Chef event is the “state’s only event of its kind” and is targeted to introduce local food producers to wholesale food buyers at restaurants.
“Tucson has been leading the way in supporting the statewide local food economy,” Local First Arizona Executive Director Kimber Lanning said. “Especially with respect to utilizing native and indigenous foods.”
In addition to Tucson’s UNESCO designation, the Farmer + Chef Connection will return to Tucson after last year’s record turnout of over 400 attendees.
“We hope to build on the connections made between local food producers and buyers,” Lanning said.
The event will kick off with “suppliers marketplace,” where vendors will be separated into categories based on the food and beverages offered, and food buyers are encouraged to make connections with the desired vendors.
Following Suppliers Marketplace, Bite Magazine will host an awards reception which will feature local food and drinks. The award nominations will be announced within the next few weeks.
While Farmer + Chef is mainly aimed towards individuals in the food industry, the event is open to the public.
Early bird tickets are priced at $10 per person, which include access to the Suppliers Marketplace and the awards reception. Vendor packages are also available for $80, which include a tabled space, parking, and two all-day passes. Early bird tickets are available until Sunday, July 31.
After July 31, general admission tickets increase to $20. Vendor packages increase to $100.
