OLLI-UA (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Arizona) is collaborating with Tucson Foodie for the free “Best New Restaurants of 2023” event on Monday, August 28 at 1 p.m.
The event will explore some of the newest restaurants that have opened in Tucson while showcasing the evolving community-driven approach of Tucson Foodie.
Location is key, and you have two options to be part of this event: you can either join in person at the OLLI-UA Central Tucson Campus located at 4485 N. First Ave. or you can opt for a virtual experience via Zoom. Keep in mind that the in-person attendance is on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited seating, so make sure to secure your spot in advance.
The event holds a delightful agenda, promising not only a culinary journey but also insights into the OLLI-UA community and its innovative approach. During the discussions, you’ll be treated to refreshments, a tour of the OLLI-UA Central Tucson Campus, and an introduction to the fall program, which includes 220 classes, field trips, and social events, offering participants more than 900 hours of enriching programming.
Leading the discussions will be Rob Getlan from OLLI-UA and Addie Ibarra from Tucson Foodie.
Getlan’s past life as a pastry chef in New York City for five years has fueled his passion for cooking and local restaurants. His insights into the culinary world, combined with his experience as a chef, promise a unique perspective on Tucson’s burgeoning food scene.
Addie Ibarra, a Tucson native, brings her love for adventure, travel, and, of course, food to the table. With a Masters in Legal Studies, she aspires to make a positive impact on people and animals worldwide. Her culinary journeys across four continents have given her a diverse palette of flavors to share. You’ll likely find her on a patio sipping wine with her 4-legged best friend, Spaghetti.
