It’s been a couple of years now since Postino WineCafé hit the ground running here in Tucson. Now, the restaurant wants to give back to the local community as they reach the two-year mark.
Back in 2020, Postino brought its mission to “Make People Feel Good” to the city when it opened its doors on the corner of Grant and Tucson Boulevard. Many have enjoyed its menu of bruschetta, shareables, and hand-picked wine and beer selections.

So, to celebrate Tucson’s specific location’s second year anniversary, Postino is teaming up with the University of Arizona’s Campus Pantry by donating proceeds from their anniversary promotion, the Wildcat Winedown, to the organization.
From Monday, May 9 – Sunday, May 15, those who stop by the restaurant can get $2 off favorite Arizona wines by the glass after 8 p.m. For every glass, $2 will be donated to Campus Pantry, which will use those funds to pick up grocery items for students and staff of the university.

“On average, a third of college students experience food insecurity at some point in their academic career and we’re excited to partner with Postino,” said Bridgette Nobbe, Coordinator of Campus Pantry.
In addition to the Wildcat Winedown $2 off deal, Postino is raffling off two annual memberships for their premier wine club, the Wine Cult — a cult that you’d be proud to tell your family about. All proceeds from the raffle will go to the Campus Pantry, too.

If you’d like to enter the contest and donate, you can do so online, and the prize winners will be drawn and contacted on Monday, May 16.
“Their anniversary promotion contributes to an environment of growth and encouragement supporting students in pursuit of higher education and a healthier lifestyle,” said Nobbe.
UA Campus Pantry’s goal is to reduce and destigmatize food insecurity in the Wildcat Community. Students and staff members are invited to visit their distribution events to grab important food staples at no cost with an active Cat Card.

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
