VIDEO: Ribeye Taco, Chicharron & More at Taqueria El Cuate

Jul 3, 20211 min read

When I heard that Taqueria El Cuate (formerly Taqueria El Cuate de Obregon) had a ribeye taco, I knew I had to investigate. I had been to this taqueria before but must’ve somehow missed the ribeye option as I’m usually so focused on chicharron.

Of course, I re-tried the chicharron, too. Taqueria El Cuate offers two kinds of chicharron, a dry and a wet. Although, it may be referred to as “red” and not wet. Apologies for the confusion. Literally speaking, however, it is both wet and red.

This is my second documented visit to a local taqueria. I’m handling the filming and editing myself, so apologies for the discrepancies in quality. These videos will improve over time! If you’d like, you can check out the first video in the series about Taqueria Rosita’s on Valencia near the airport.

Anyhow, the ribeye taco did not disappoint! Check out the video and let me know what you think. Oh, and if you haven’t already, subscribe to the Tucson Foodie YouTube channel.

Taqueria El Cuate is located at 4817 S Valencia Rd.

@Dedicatedgf is for sale, but it’s not closing. The Midtown bakery at 4500 E. Speedway Blvd. will continue normal operations into 2027 and is accepting holiday orders.

Owner Jennifer Kinkade announced the listing on Instagram, explaining that rising operating costs and accumulated debt have made it difficult to sustain the business, despite steadily increasing year-over-year sales since 2020. The sale includes the business, recipes, lease and equipment. Kinkade is also open to a partnership or angel investor. The buyer would not assume the bakery’s existing debt.

Dedicated offers an entirely gluten-free facility with vegan and dairy-free options, including pastries, bread, cookies, pies and custom cakes.

Interested buyers can email jen@dedicatedgf.com. Customers can continue placing holiday orders as usual.
