Dedicated Gluten Free Bakery is for sale (but staying open through the holidays)

Oct 23, 20262 min read

Dedicated Gluten Free Bakery & Coffee Shop is for sale. Owner Jennifer Kinkade announced the listing in an Instagram post that opens with a message for customers: "Dedicated is NOT closing." The Midtown bakery at 4500 E. Speedway Blvd. Suite 41 plans to take holiday orders and operate normally into 2027.

"We are committed to fulfilling all holiday orders and maintaining regular operations into 2027," the post said. Customers can place holiday orders now.

What the sale includes

The listing covers the business, the recipes, the lease, and the equipment. The post says year-over-year sales have increased steadily since 2020.

A buyer would not take on the bakery's debt, which stays with Kinkade. The owners also welcome a partnership or an angel-investor arrangement. Interested buyers can email jen@dedicatedgf.com.

Why the owners are selling

Kinkade took over Dedicated in 2020, and the pandemic upended her business plan. Her emergency fund ran out, and she relied on credit through later downturns. "It isn't a lack of devoted customers or a lack of belief in Dedicated," the post said. "It is the weight of the debt we carry, combined with the rising costs of doing business in today's economy."

The owners said they could have trimmed that debt by switching suppliers or cutting wages. Instead, Dedicated pays a fair wage, offers consistent hourly schedules, and gives staff 100% of tips. The bakery also uses high-quality, fair trade, allergy-safe ingredients and sources locally when possible. "We would never betray the trust of our customers to save a dollar," the post said.

What it means for customers

For now, Dedicated is open and baking its usual treats. The owners plan to stay open as long as they can and ask customers to keep visiting, share posts, and spread the word.

"We believe in a better tomorrow for Dedicated. We just recognize that tomorrow may need to be in someone else's hands," the post said. The owners also thanked their staff and customers for nearly seven years of support.

About Dedicated

Dedicated operates as a dedicated gluten-free facility with vegan and dairy-free options. Its bakery case includes cream puffs, pastries, bread, cookies, and pies, and the shop takes custom cake orders.
