Buckle up for a tour through Napa and Sonoma right here in Southern Arizona.
Bob’s Steak & Chop House is dishing out a seven course wine pairing dinner at 5 p.m. on Monday, December 11.
Bob’s is considered one of the top steakhouses in the country, and is located in the newly renovated Omni Tucson National Resort.
Each of the seven courses, whether it be the prime filet mignon or the brown butter poached lobster, will include a different wine from seven wineries.
Seats are $95 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and spots are very limited with less than 10 seats available.

First Course
- Amuse Bouche – mascarpone stuffed fig and pancetta
- Paired with a 2016 Frog’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc
Second Course
- Pan Seared Sea Scallop – with a celeriac puree with lemon peel gremolata and lotus chip
- Paired with a 2015 ZD Chardonnay
Third Course
- Brown Butter Poached Lobster – warm orange persimmon salad and pork rind powder.
- Paired with a 2016 Truchard Roussanne
Fourth Course
- Rack of Venison – with black currant gastrique, toasted acorns, and baby turnip greens
- Paired with a 2014 Occidental Pinot Noir
Fifth Course
- Cote de Boeuf Ribeye – basted with bone marrow and tarragon, with plout demi-glace
- Paired with a 2011 Martinelli Vellutini Ranch Zinfandel
Sixth Course
- Prime Filet Mignon – with black trumpet mushrooms, black garlic, and charred cipollini onion
- Paired with a 2012 Odette Cabernet Sauvignon
Seventh Course
- Mixed Berry Calfoutis – caramelized mascarpone cream in a chocolate torte shell
- Paired with a Heitz Cellars Ink Grade Port

More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
