Holiday Cocoa & Cocktails at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort

Cocoa for the kids & cocoa-themed cocktails for the adults.

The holiday season has arrived at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, and it has brought along specialty cocoa and cocktails from Sunday, December 1 – Wednesday, January 1.

The crew at the resort’s Cascade Lounge has put a creative spin on the classic drink that’s meant to warm you up and imitate jolly feelings deep down in your belly.

There’s going to be a few variations of cocoa for kids to enjoy, but adults will have the option to pick from one of the two locally-inspired cocktails — or both if you need some extra Holiday spirit.

One of the concoctions is the Southwest Spice and Everything Nice. It’s mixed with Tequila Anejo, hot chocolate, chili powder, and a sprinkle of cinnamon garnish.

“We are fortunate that in Tucson, our change of seasons still includes the beautiful weather that Arizona is known for, so we wanted to offer both a cold-weather libation as well as an iced selection to give our guests options on those beautiful winter days,” said Martin Charlton, Director of Food & Beverage.

The other wintry cocktail is the Sunny Holiday. It’s an iced drink with Tequila Reposado, Kahlua, cold brew coffee, and a coffee bean garnish.

Perhaps one of the sweetest deals of all is that the kid-friendly cocoa is free with the purchase of either of the “spiked” cocoa cocktails.

At a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating.
