Marana’s Vero Amore Rebrands as ‘Amore’ Under New Ownership

By Matt Sterner

After more than 15 years, Vero Amore, at 12130 N. Dove Mountain Blvd., is undergoing a rebrand under the helm of brand-new owner, Jimmy Aujla.

Earlier this month, Aujla — the mastermind behind Indian Twist and Zyka Twist — purchased the Italian restaurant in Marana from JAM Culinary Concepts, renaming it to Amore and adding Indian cuisine to the menu.

“When I started in 2018, my goal was to expand all over Tucson, and I started with Indian Twist, Zyka Twist, then Indian Twist Airport,” said Aujla.

Keep in mind that the Vero Amore location at 2920 N. Swan Rd., where The Still cocktail lounge is hiding, will remain the same. JAM Culinary Concepts is still overseeing this restaurant, which also owns Noble Hops.

“Amore will be the next hit in the Tucson community,” Aujla added.

Amore’s Menu

When describing the enhanced menu at Amore, Aujla says it has “everything you can dream of — Indian cuisine, wings, and Italian cuisine.” Therefore, consider it a dreamy situation for folks seeking a wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, chicken tikka masala, and a dozen hot ones (wings) all under one roof.

“You guys have shown me so much love, and I can’t wait for you all to try this place,” said Aujla.

His culinary training can be traced back to his days volunteering at a Sikh temple in the Odisha city of Bhubaneswar when he was 12 years old.

“The key to running any restaurant, anywhere, is to be mindful of the experience of every person that walks through the door. Some people won’t even care about how good the food is if the experience is bad.”
