About

As part of the growing trend of experiential dining and holiday-themed events, HUB/Playground is launching a unique Pop Up Holiday Bar this December. This limited-time venue will feature a selection of holiday-themed cocktails. Open throughout the entire month of December, the pop-up promises to be a delightful destination for those looking to spread holiday cheer in downtown.

The Pop Up Holiday Bar features an exciting menu of four signature cocktails, each crafted with seasonal ingredients to evoke the warmth and joy of the holidays. Guests can sip on the 'Yuletide 75,' a refreshing blend of Miles Gin, rosemary, lemon, pomegranate, and prosecco. For those who enjoy a fruity twist, 'In a Pear Tree Mule' is available with pear vodka, cranberry, hibiscus, mint, lemon, and ginger beer. While the 'Spiced Sleigh Ride' combines cinnamon spiced bourbon, maple, orange, and angostura bitters, topped with a flamed orange peel. For those seeking a sweet treat, the 'Velvet Gingerbread' presents a creamy mix of Combier Liqueur de Mure, amaretto, oat milk, and pomegranate.

The Pop Up Holiday Bar operates with the same hours as HUB, welcoming guests from 11 AM to 9 PM Sunday through Thursday and extending to 11 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. This convenient schedule allows patrons to enjoy a festive drink after work or gather with loved ones on the weekends. With an average price range of $12 per cocktail, the pop-up bar gives an affordable way to indulge in holiday treats without breaking the bank.

In addition to the festive drinks, HUB also features a special promotion: guests who purchase $100 in gift cards will receive a $20 bonus gift card. This offer is a perfect way to treat oneself or to give the gift of holiday cheer to friends and family.

Although the holiday menu focuses on alcoholic options, patrons can still find non-alcoholic beverages on the regular menu. This ensures that everyone can join in on the festive fun, regardless of their drinking preferences. To keep up with the latest updates and offerings, guests are encouraged to check out the bar's Instagram pages @Hubdowntown and @Playtucson.

IOU Sushi III has closed. The all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant on North Oracle Road announced the news on Facebook after about 10 years in Tucson. “This is the hardest post I’ve had to write,” the owners said. The post continued, “we have met some great friends who have become family to us.” Tucson Foodie first visited the restaurant in 2017, when it operated as IOU Sushi IV.

Anne Rysdale built @sheltercocktaillounge in 1961 with concrete walls, lava rock, and Cold War nerves. Today, owners Pam Santangelo and Kevin Breutzmann keep the Tucson bar exactly as regulars remember it. Inside, martinis share space with JFK memorabilia, a vintage atomic chandelier, and a suit of armor named Charlie. “Tucson is changing so much, but this has stayed the same. It’s a time capsule,” Santangelo said.
