Indie Week kicks off in Tucson on Saturday, June 24 – Tuesday, July 4, featuring its distinct local business Bingo Card. Throughout the 11 days (yes, it’s longer than a week) Local First Arizona is encouraging Arizonans to “go local” by supporting as many locally-owned businesses as possible.
Each year, traditionally over the first week of July, first-timers and returning customers across the state discover new and fun ways to support Arizona’s small, independent businesses.
Here’s How it Works:
- Complete five spaces — vertical, diagonal, or horizontal lines.
- As you start your #IndieWeekAZ journey, make sure to mark your completed spaces and keep receipts and screenshots of ways you supported small businesses. If your name is selected, Local First Arizona will contact you for proof of participation and let you claim your prize.
- Submit your completed Bingo Card by midnight on Tuesday, July 4 to win gift cards, tickets to sporting events, and more.
- Here are digital versions of the Bingo Cards: English or Español

2023 Prizes Include:
- Two Weezer tickets – Wednesday, August 30 at Arizona Financial Theatre
- Two Modest Mouse tickets – Tuesday, September 19 at Rialto Theatre
- Four Lower Level, Diamondbacks Tickets – Saturday, August 28
Foodie 500 & Insider Member Prizes
This year, Foodie 500 and Insider members who submit a completed bingo card at the end of Indie Week will be entered to win a pair of tickets to the MotoSonora Pool Party on Saturday, July 15.

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
