Owned and helmed by Mexican chef Claudia Glez, Tamaliza is a labor of love that echoes the culinary traditions of Taxco Guerrero, Morelos, and Michoacan states. Claudia’s passion for creating delicious and authentic Mexican food shines through in every dish — all of which incorporate fresh, organic, and non-GMO ingredients. The counter-service cafe provides the perfect setting to savor the menu full of house-made tamales and memorable sides. The chilaquiles are a crowd-pleaser, but be sure to ask about their daily specials.

IOU Sushi III has closed. The all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant on North Oracle Road announced the news on Facebook after about 10 years in Tucson. “This is the hardest post I’ve had to write,” the owners said. Today, owners Pam Santangelo and Kevin Breutzmann keep the Tucson bar exactly as regulars remember it.
