Rialto Theatre’s R Bar Cocktail List Revealed

Rialto Theatre’s R Bar Cocktail List Revealed

Jul 10, 20142 min read
Rialto Theatre‘s self-anointed “Best Tucson Alley Bar Since 2014,” R Bar, is on the verge of opening to the public, but coinciding with tonight’s industry-only soft-opening, its website has gone live, revealing R Bar’s complete list of available craft beer, wine and cocktails. Though patrons are encouraged to ask bartenders to make a custom cocktail based on one’s taste preferences, here are some of the inventive creations that bar manager Rory O’Rear (Red Room, Wilko) has come up with.

In an interview with the Tucson Weekly, Rialto Theatre Manger Curtis McCrary had this to say:
It’s a totally different approach — Rialto is about speed of service and relative simplicity. R Bar is going to have totally different products on offer with an emphasis on craft in all categories. We’ll have 10 draft beers plus 4 draft wines that will rotate pretty regularly, in addition to a great selection of bottles and cans. Just clap your hands. Our bar manager Rory O’Rear has created an excellent house specialty cocktail menu, but we’re also emphasizing an approach where you tell our bartender a thing or two about tastes or flavors you like, and she creates a bespoke drink for you on the spot. If we do that well, people will really enjoy it.
R Bar’s current cocktail selection:
  • Julep Cobbler – Bourbon, Peach Shrub, Lemon, Fresh Mint $9
  • House Margarita – Mezcal or Tequila, Salted Grapefruit Vanilla Bean Cordial, Lime, House Rhubarb Bitters $8 / $19
  • Penguino Punch – Manzanilla Sherry, Pistachio-Infused Black Rum, Coconut Creme, Lime, House Tiki Bitters $11
  • The Rialtor – Ginger Infused Vodka, Cardamom, Lime, Ginger Beer $9
  • Quantum Weirdness – Saffron-Infused Pisco, Pear Eaux De Vie, Blanc Vermouth, Orange Bitters $12
  • Church Clothes – Red Wine, Cucumber, Amontillado Sherry, Cinnamon Syrup, Lemon Juice  $8
  • Psychomagic – XO Cognac, Raspberry Liqueur, Cynar, Bonal Gentiane  $11
  • Santa Sangria – Daily Fresh-Made Rosé Sangria $7 / $19

For the rest of the beverage selection, check out R Bar.

@Pueblovida is closing its original downtown taproom this fall, 12 years after opening, and moving next door to a larger space at 121 E. Broadway Blvd.

The new taproom will seat 100+ guests and feature 14 taps, a curated wine program and, for the first time, a restaurant. Chef Scott Girod of @Anello_pizzeria will open a new restaurant in the shared space, expected to follow the taproom’s late fall 2026 opening in early 2027.

“This taproom has always been more than four walls. It’s where we’ve celebrated milestones, introduced hundreds of new beers, watched friendships grow and built a community we’re incredibly grateful for. While we’re excited about what’s next, it’s impossible not to feel sentimental about saying goodbye to the place where it all happened.” — @Pueblovida Co-founder Linette Antillon
