On Pi Day, mathematicians geek out, but so do pizza lovers.

This year, North Italia is replacing the rotating “Chef’s Daily Pizza” with a unique, regional-inspired pie that’s only available for a limited time.

For Pi Day, you’ll be able to order up a Sonoran Desert Pizza, featuring chorizo, chipotle bean puree, mozzarella cheese, fontina cheese, jalapeno peppers, roasted corn, cotija cheese, pickled red onions, green onions, cilantro and creme fraiche.

“Our pizza is influenced by the ‘Three Sisters,’ which are the three main agricultural crops of various indigenous groups in North America, which includes corn, winter squash, and beans,” said executive chef TJ Thompson. “Being in Arizona, we thought it would be super dope to come up with a pizza using those ingredients while adding a Southwestern mix of bold, bright, zesty, and spicy flavors to it.”

With each purchase of the Sonoran Desert Pizza, North Italia will donate $1 to its national charity partner, FoodCorps, to support the non-profit’s mission to provide access to healthy food and nutrition to school-aged children nationwide.

The limited-time pizza is available for dine-in, takeout, or delivery using DoorDash from Sunday, March 14 – Wednesday, March 31.

North Itali is located at 2995 E. Skyline Dr. For reservations, call (520) 299-1600. For more information, visit northitaliarestaurant.com.
