Community remembers Michael Reynolds, Brooklyn's Beer & Burgers owner

Aug 3, 20261 min read

Michael Kevin Reynolds, owner of Brooklyn's Beer & Burgers, died on July 15, 2026, at age 49. He was born on May 2, 1976.

Reynolds's obituary, posted through Funeraria del Angel Catalina, describes a man who touched many lives through his compassion, sense of humor, and willingness to help others. Family and friends surrounded him when he passed. According to the notice, he will be remembered for his kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering love for those closest to him.

The obituary also notes that his presence brought comfort to the people around him, and it says his family plans to carry his values forward.

Brooklyn's shared their own tribute on their Facebook page on July 23. The post described him as someone who avoided the spotlight and consistently put others first. It said he rarely accepted recognition for his efforts and often placed his own needs last.

The post encouraged the community to honor Reynolds by looking out for one another this month, offering grace to people going through hard times, and striving to be the best version of themselves, even when that's difficult. The writer said that's the legacy Reynolds would want: making a difference in even one life.

A celebration of life will take place from 12 p.m.-4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, at Funeraria del Angel Catalina, 3435 N. First Ave. in Tucson. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate his life.

Cafe Francais, the French bakery known for its scratch-made croissants and kouign-amann, is closing for good. Owners Noelle and Daniel Martinez announced the closure on Instagram Wednesday afternoon, ending a seven-year run that began on Tucson’s east side.

“Thank you, Tucson, for one hell of a crazy, amazing, and sometimes terrible 7-year ride. We’ve truly loved it all, the good, the bad, and the difficult.”
