The brewery is donating $1 from each pour to benefit StacheStrong, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization devoted to raising funds and awareness for brain cancer research.

The beer, which is tasty enough to get your mustache in a twist, is the S.M.A.S.H for Stache IPA. It’s a west coast IPA made with Galaxy and Mosaic hops. It’ll be released on Saturday, May 1, and will be solely available at their Sonoita taproom.

Copper Brothel Brewery is one of two breweries representing Arizona in the nationwide beer collaboration, with nearly 200 breweries in total participating in the #BrewStacheStrong campaign across the country.

The campaign hits especially close to heartstrings for members of the Copper Brothel family. Just last year, they lost uncle and family member, Mark Wolicki, and grandma and loved one, Mary Jo Jesser.

The release of the new S.M.A.S.H. for Stache IPA will look very different from the brewery’s previous releases because it’s the first time since opening their doors in 2018, a male will grace the tap list. What this means is that the brewery typically names each of its beers after women to “highlight Arizona’s history and showcase the unspoken contribution women played in building the Wild West.”

“Being in a position to not only provide hope for families and patients diagnosed with brain cancer, but also serve as a catalyst for change by collaborating with Copper Brothel Brewery to raise significant funds and awareness for brain cancer research is something I’m truly passionate about,” said Colin Gerner, President and co-founder of StacheStrong.

Copper Brothel Brewery is located at 3112 AZ-83, Sonoita, AZ 85637. For more information, visit copperbrothelbrewery.com.
