Oro Valley’s taproom scene is getting a new addition.

Over on the north side of town, Hector and Marnel Martinez are preparing to unveil their craft beer, wine, and bottle shop, The Hoppy Vine. With an opening date slated for the end of November, the husband and wife duo couldn’t be more excited to share their vision with the community at 12125 N. Oracle Rd.

What’s to drink?

The taproom, found in the Oro Valley Marketplace (near Charred Pie and Tuk Tuk Thai), will offer a selection of 20 craft beers, 10 wines, and at least one hard cider and seltzer — all on tap. They also have batched agave-wine margaritas — which they promise taste just like a standard margarita — and Frosé, a rosé-based slushie type of drink.

“Hector is a craft beer nerd and although I love beer, it doesn’t love me,” said Marnel. “I agreed to partner with him in this wild adventure with one exception; I get to choose 50% of what we serve.”

Therefore, The Hoppy Vine will also house a row of coolers consisting of craft beer, wine, and champagne as well as wine-based cocktails, sake, seltzers, and ciders. Are you one with a penchant for non-alcoholic beverages? They’ve got you covered on that front, too, with offerings that will include non-alcoholic beer, seltzers, canned mocktails, and even a “mocktail of the day.”

What’s to eat?

When it comes to food, you can look forward to charcuterie boards and packaged snacks available open to close. However, you’re always welcome and encouraged to bring your favorite foods in to be enjoyed from the taproom or out on the mountain view-filled patio.

Kids and canine companions are always welcome to join in on the fun, too.

Hector and Marnel have really committed their energy to create an environment where anyone can stop by and find refreshments of their liking. “I want us to be known as Oro Valley’s bar,” said Marnel, “where everyone is welcome.”
