Foodie-Themed Events Celebrating the ‘Barbie’ Premiere in Tucson

"C'mon Barbie, Let's Go Party!"

The highly anticipated “Barbie” movie has already taken the world by storm, captivating audiences worldwide (it hasn’t even been released yet). It’s set to pop into theaters on Friday, July 21, and a few restaurants and chefs are celebrating its release here in Tucson.

Here are a few food-themed, hot pink events happening around the city.

Sidecar

CryFest Emo Night at Music Box Lounge

Dress accordingly because this party is themed with pink and black colors. It’s free and will be held at Music Box Lounge on 22nd Street — filled with drink specials, popcorn, and a photobooth.

Rollies Mexican Patio

The restaurant is now serving a Barbie Pink Concha from now until Friday, July 21. If you’re 12 years old and younger, bring a toy Barbie and you’ll get it for free.

Chez Peachy’s Barbie-Themed Pop-Up

4500 N. Oracle Rd.

Local baker Chez Peachy is hosting a three-day pop-up event on Friday, July 21 – Sunday, July 23 at the Tucson Mall. The event will feature Barbie-inspired treats for all to purchase. Plus, if you wear Barbie-inspired outfits you’ll receive extra stamps on the Chez Peachy loyalty card.

Barbie Premiere Pink Disco Party at Playground

“The new Barbie Movie is being released the same night as the July G3 so we thought what the heck… C’mon Barbie, let’s go Party!”

G3 Tucson is hosting a Barbie Premiere Pink Disco Party at Playground. Dress up in Pink or a Barbie/Ken-inspired look because they’ll be “dolling” the Playground up in “sickening shades of pink and mirror balls with a disco soundtrack and special pink drink options.”

Sounds like a blast, right? From 5 – 7 p.m., they’ll have a Malibu Beach House Happy Hour Mixer and then from 7 – 10 p.m., the Barbie Pink Disco Dance Party kicks in. $9 gets you into the party and your first drink is free.

Monster Sonoran Hot Dogs

What’s it going to be? Pink hot dog buns? Pink tortillas? An in-person Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling meet-and-greet? You’ll just have to wait to find out. The Sonoran hot dog joint is expected to announce what they’ve got cookin’ up sometime this week.
