Diving into the terroir of Sonoma County without actually hittin’ the road and driving to Sonoma County just got a little easier for Tucsonans!

A. Toraño Wines is opening its brand-new tasting room to the public on Saturday, January 20 at 14 S. Eastbourne Ave., which is right next door to Barrio Bread and Ombre Coffee. The hours of operation will be 2 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday – Friday, noon – 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and then closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Meet the Toraños

Hailing from Sonoma County, the Toraño Family has been making wines from renowned vineyards throughout the county’s AVAs since 2014. Last year the family relocated to Arizona, and are pumped to open their flagship tasting room in central Tucson.

Meanwhile, all of the winemaking operations continue in Santa Rosa, California. Sonoma County is known to have some of the finest wines from AVAs like the Alexander Valley, the Russian River, and Bennett Valley.

Alongside their lineup of single vineyard wines — Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet, Grenache, Petite Sirah, Syrah — A. Toraño Wines tasting room will feature other small production family-owned wines that aren’t always available in Arizona.

“It has been my honor to consult for the Toraño Family as they worked to open their beautiful tasting room in Tucson,” said Sarah Fox of Sand-Reckoner Vineyards and now A. Toraño Wines. “Join us for a taste of their lineup of exceptional wines.”

Also, you’re bound to get hungry while visiting the tasting room. They’ll be serving meats, cheeses, olive oils, and jams that are all made in Sonoma County.

The complex on the corner of Broadway Boulevard and Country Club Road has become a pretty poppin’ area over the years. Of course, there’s the new addition of A. Toraño Wines in between Ombre Coffee and Barrio Bread, but with the current lineup of Bisbee Breakfast Club, Falora, Sidecar, and Sushi Garden, you’ll likely find something to do with your time on that corner.

A. Toraño Wines is located at 14 S. Eastbourne Ave. For more information, visit atoranowines.com and follow A. Toraño Wines on Instagram.
