Multi-Course Whiskey-Paired Dinner at Dante’s Fire (MENU)

Calling all whiskey lovers!

Chef Ken Foy of Dante’s Fire is bringing his signature Summer Whiskey Dinner Series to a close with the third installment from 6 – 9 p.m. on Sunday, September 22.

“Join us for a hand-crafted dinner by the current reigning Iron Chef of Tucson!”

Tickets are $105 per person and can be purchased online. The first glass will be poured at 6 p.m.

First Course
  • Bourbon French Onion Soup – Bread Tuille, Onion Custard, Cheese Gratin, Bullion Aioli
  • Paired with Dante’s Signature “I Killed Buttercup”
Second Course
  • Sonoran Tuna Escabeche – Shaved Radish, Micro Greens, Cactus, Paprika-Chile Citrus Vinaigrette
  • Paired with Colonel E.H. Taylor Small Batch
Third Course
  • Duck, Duck, Goose – Smoked Duck Breast, Duck Fat Squash Gnocchi, Foie Gras Glace, Celery Root PurĂ©e, Grilled Artichoke
  • Paired with Stagg
Fourth Course
  • Braised Petite Boneless Short Rib – Whiskey Polenta, Fermented Garlic Pepper Sauce, Roasted Cauliflower
  • Paired with Weller Full Proof
Fifth Course
  • Mint Julep Clouds – Bourbon Dessert Duet, Cloud, Deconstructed Whiskey Old Fashioned
  • Paired with Elmer T. Lee

Next month, Chef Foy will take on Chef Anthony Dromgoole of OBON.

At a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.

He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
