Le Cave’s Bakery to Close After 90 Years in Business

February 17, 2025
By Matt Sterner

"It’s been a pleasure serving you!"

On Monday, February 17, the Le Cave’s Bakery team announced they are permanently closing the local doughnut and pastry shop at 3950 E. 22nd St.

“With a heavy heart, we announce Le Cave’s Bakery will be closing its doors this Sunday, February 23, or sooner depending on remaining supplies and staffing,” the owners shared on social media.

The bakery first opened in 1935 at 1219 S. Sixth Ave. but closed in 2017. Naomi and Chris Pershing then purchased the business in 2018, opening its new location — equipped with a drive-thru — at 22nd Street near Alvernon Way.

So, order something sweet from your vehicle or pop your head inside before Sunday, February 23. As mentioned, they’re unsure if they’ll remain open for that long, but that’s the current goal/plan.

We reached out for a comment about a closure, but couldn’t reach anyone at this time.

“Thank you for your support over the years. It’s been a pleasure serving you!”
