Takamatsu permanently closed after more than 30 years in Tucson. The Korean-Japanese restaurant operated at 5532 E. Speedway Blvd.
Earlier this week, the restaurant posted a sign on the front door confirming the closure. The notice thanked the community and cited financial hardship as the reason.
“After 30+ privileged years of serving Tucson, we are closed due to financial hardship,” the sign said. “Thank you for all of your support, Tucson.”
Management shared the same message across multiple platforms.
Takamatsu’s phone number now routes to a recorded message that repeats the statement from the door sign. The restaurant also confirmed the closure in a social media post thanking customers for their loyalty.
In May 2025, Takamatsu’s Phoenix location also closed. The Tucson closure ended the restaurant’s presence in Arizona.
