Tucson’s first Brazilian steakhouse Churrasco de Brasil announced that they will open at 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 10.
The 8,700-square-foot space at the Tucson Mall previously housed Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar and Brio Tuscan Grille. This is the space’s first tenant since Twigs closed in May 2018.
For 30 years, Churrasco de Brasil partners Adão Giovanaz and Elmir Bernardon worked in nearly every position at Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão. Customers consistently drove up to the Phoenix location and asked for a location in Tucson, Giovanaz said. This will be the first restaurant that the duo have opened on their own.
The restaurant will feature over 12 cuts of meat; chefs will walk around with different cuts to slice at the table. A variety of cuts from beef, lamb, pork, and chicken will be served regularly.
Additionally, a market table will feature 30 to 35 salads, cured meats, cheeses, feijoada, and more. A full bar will include traditional Brazilian cocktails, such as the caipirinha.
Operating hours are 3:30 – 8:30 p.m. Sunday, 5 – 9:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday, 5 – 10 p.m. Friday, and 4 – 10 p.m. Saturday.
