New restaurant ‘Fullylove’s’ is set to open on Fourth Avenue

New restaurant ‘Fullylove’s’ is set to open on Fourth Avenue

Apr 29, 20212 min read

In a location that’s had many restaurants pass through over the years (Holy Donuts, CANS Deli, and U.S. Fries), a new spot is excited to be taking over the space soon.

In collaboration with Arte Bella, the new restaurant on the block is called Fullylove’s and it’s planning to open up on Friday, April 30 at 340 N. Fourth Ave.

The menu features handheld bites like The Bialy Burger, an Angus beef patty served with jalapeño cheddar bialy, fontina cheese, truffled arugula, and roasted tomato aioli. There are vegan options as well, like the V-Licious Vegan Burger — topped with vegan Havarti cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, avocado, romaine lettuce, and housemade veganaise served on a brioche bun.

Additionally, owner and executive chef Anthony Fullylove is outsourcing a few items from Cafe Francais, like their brioche buns and Vegan Triple Chocolate Cake.

Fullylove has been working hard over the past 12 years, making his way up the culinary ladder. He started out as a dishwasher and later evolved into the role of a chef at various local restaurants like Prep & Pastry and Commoner & Co.

Along the way, he learned quite a bit in multiple kitchens but opening up his own place is what he’s most exuberant about.

“This is my passion and my goal,” said Fullylove. “To bring high-quality food to Fourth Avenue at an affordable price, too. Everything we do is from scratch and locally sourced.”

So, what’s going on down the hall and located behind Fullylove’s?

You’ll notice that the building’s facade displays Arte Bella’s signage, too, which is who they’ve collaborated with in this venture. Arte Bella is utilizing the area as an art studio, with plans to host live DJ sets and “paint and sip” events, which are cannabis-friendly.

Of course, you can also bring your bites from Fullylove’s back there while you get crafty. Maybe some Deep Fried Peanut Butter SmOREOS will bring out your inner artist.

The hours of operation during the grand opening will be 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.

Fullylove’s is located at 340 N. Fourth Ave. For more information, visit fullyloves.com or follow them on Facebook.

More about Matt

At a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.

He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.

If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.

IOU Sushi III has closed. The all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant on North Oracle Road announced the news on Facebook after about 10 years in Tucson. “This is the hardest post I’ve had to write,” the owners said. Anne Rysdale built @sheltercocktaillounge in 1961 with concrete walls, lava rock, and Cold War nerves. Today, owners Pam Santangelo and Kevin Breutzmann keep the Tucson bar exactly as regulars remember it. Inside, martinis share space with JFK memorabilia, a vintage atomic chandelier, and a suit of armor named Charlie. “Tucson is changing so much, but this has stayed the same. It’s a time capsule,” Santangelo said.
