Mexijuana Edibles & Dirty T Tamarindo Fuse Mexican Culture & Cannabis

May 14, 20254 min read

Tucson’s cannabis community is buzzing with excitement as two local brands, Mexijuana Edibles and Dirty T Tamarindo, have created a new line of THC-infused edibles. This collaboration brings the vibrant and bold flavors of Mexican food culture into the world of cannabis, offering a one-of-a-kind experience for enthusiasts. With four unique products hitting the shelves, this partnership is a celebration of tradition, innovation, and the rich culinary heritage of Mexico.

The Collaboration: Where Tradition Meets Innovation

Mexijuana Edibles and Dirty T Tamarindo have created a craft edible that highlights the essence of Mexican flavors. Michael Dillon, owner of Mexijuana Edibles and Tucson native, states the decision to partner with Dirty T was simple.

“Its a good product, I have tried a lot of different peoples’ [products], they checked all the boxes,” Dillon said.

Partnering with a local business was also a high priority, and Dirty T Tamarindo, founded in 2022 here in Tucson, fit the bill.

“Launching as the first Mexican-inspired candy brand on the [dispensary] shelf was an exhilarating milestone,” said Alana Solis, owner of Dirty T Tamarindo.

The concept itself brought Solis an array of emotions, from nervousness to gratitude.

“As this was a new market for us, we entered with an open mind, eager to learn, grow, and adapt along the way,” Solis said.

The Products: A Taste of Mexico in Every Bite

The collaboration has resulted in four tasty THC-infused products that reflect the heart and soul of Mexican food culture. These edibles will be available exclusively at both Prime Leaf locations in Tucson. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store:

  1. Rim Dip Chamoy – A sweet, tangy, and spicy explosion of tamarind and chamoy flavors, perfectly dosed with THC for a delightful kick.
  2. Spicy Gummies – Juicy mango and watermelon flavors enhanced with a touch of chile for that signature sweet-and-spicy combo. These gummies are a nostalgic nod to classic Mexican candy with a modern cannabis twist.
  3. Cajeta – Creamy caramel infused with Dirty T Tamarindo’s signature spicy tamarind flavor, offering a balance of heat and sweetness. Available in a syringe for easy dosing.
  4. Rim Dip – A bold and playful way to jazz up any beverage. Also available in a syringe for easy dosing.

Interested in trying other non-infused varieties of Mexican candies by Dirty T Tamarindo? Non-infused edible treats are available at their retail location at 1211 W. St Marys Rd. Hours are 1 p.m.-6 p.m. Sunday and Monday, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday.

Where to Find The Infused Treats

Cannabis lovers can find these new products at Prime Leaf.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Mexijuana Edibles to the Prime Leaf family,” said Leah Rhey of Prime Leaf Dispensary. “This local product celebrates our region’s rich Mexican heritage with bold, nostalgic flavors like Chamoy Dip, Spicy Gummies, and Cajeta — infused with cannabis. Available at both Prime locations.”

Each product is 100mg total (10 x 10mg doses), and has a retail price of $20.

“We can’t wait for our community to taste the flavor and feel the tradition,” Rhey said.

A Celebration of Culture and Community

This collaboration isn’t just about edibles — it’s a celebration of the rich cultural heritage that makes Tucson unique. By infusing the bold and authentic flavors of Mexican cuisine into cannabis products, Mexijuana Edibles and Dirty T Tamarindo are creating a bridge between tradition and innovation. It’s a delicious way to honor the community and share the flavors of Mexico in a whole new way.

Between the pools, hot spring and cold plunge, water slide, yoga, live music, complimentary bike rentals, and their nostalgic “Summer Rewind” experience, there was always something to do. We never left the resort.

The highlight at their on-site restaurant, Epazote Kitchen & Cocktails, was the Pollo Con Rajas - perfectly cooked chicken over a rich creamed poblano, onion, and corn mestizaje. And if you’re at their Sundance Café for breakfast, get the pozole. It’s made from a family recipe that became such a guest favorite it earned a permanent spot on the menu.

Although El Conquistador licenses the Hilton brand, it’s owned and operated by a local company. The culinary team sources much of its meat and produce from Arizona.

Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or just looking for an incredible dinner with Catalina Mountain views, this spot is worth adding to your list. 🌵🌞
