Beer and wine lovers in Southern Arizona have been a lucky crowd these past few years. New craft breweries seem to open faster than we can report them, there’s a beer dinner every night of the week, and wine country has grown in national popularity and size, with new varieties announced regularly.
However, with great fortune comes great responsibility. Proper is hosting a series of dinners, each featuring one local brewery and one local winery for guests to try and vote on.
At the end of each course, the votes will be tallied to come up with a winner for each dinner in the series. The finals will feature the brewery and winery that get the most votes overall.
The series originated with JP Vyborny and Chris Squires of 1055 Brewing, who approached Proper with the idea. Proper responded with enthusiasm, and the planning began.
The first dinner, on September 28 at 7pm, brings 1055 and Chateau Tumbleweed to the table.
