A tea house just recently joined coffee shops and microbreweries downtown to complete the beverage trifecta.
The space at 308 E. Congress St., previously planned to become a Proper Meatery, is no longer vacant.
Tea house The Scented Leaf, which opened its original location at Main Gate Square in 2012, opened its second location last Saturday, April 15.
“This location offers a more concise selection of teas,” said Tommy Chek, store manager at The Scented Leaf who also painted the koi and floral mural on the eastern wall. There are still dozens of tea varieties available, however.
Additionally, 16 teas are featured on tap with flavors such as orange vanilla cream, Moroccan mint, chai, yerba mate, and peach black.
Guests order by choosing hot or cold, wall (loose leaf) or tap tea, sugar or no sugar, milk or no milk, and finally lemon or no lemon.
Single-person beverages range from $2.50 to $4.
A pastry case displays health bars and “health donuts” from local vegan bakery PHÖD along with slices of cake and cheesecake.
The Scented Leaf is located at 308 E. Congress St. and 943 E. University Blvd. Ste 165. For more information, visit thescentedleaf.com.
