Screwbean Brewing & Cheba Hut Collab HighPA Launches April 1

Mar 13, 20252 min read

Innovation and creativity drive the ever-evolving craft beer industry. Embracing this spirit, Screwbean Brewing and Cheba Hut have teamed up to craft a beer with a world-class pun for a name: HighPA.

A Match Made in Hempy Heaven

Screwbean Brewing partnered with Cheba Hut, to create a beer that complements Cheba Hut’s signature flavors. This collaboration goes beyond crafting a beverage; it creates an experience that celebrates the vibrant culture of both brands.

The Brew: A Fusion of Flavors

The limited-edition beer, aptly named HighPA, reflects the laid-back vibes and bold flavors that define Screwbean and Cheba Hut. HighPA, a West Coast IPA with a twist, features delicate strawberry notes balanced by a subtle hint of dank hemp. The result is a refreshing and aromatic brew.

“It’s very forward and has danker notes coming through,” brewer Andy Riedel said. “There’s a moderate bitterness; it’s a dry yet refreshing beer.”

Crafting Community and Connection

This collaboration aims to bring communities together. Both Screwbean Brewing and Cheba Hut have deep roots in Tucson, and their partnership highlights a shared commitment to fostering connection and camaraderie.

“Because hops and cannabis are agriculturally cousins, you get similar flavor notes between the two,” Riedel said. “That’s why we chose these hops—we want tasters to recognize the connection between the beer and cannabis.”

Where to Find HighPA

HighPA will be available at the Tucson Cheba Hut location and Screwbean Brewing taprooms starting April 1. A pint costs $6.50 at Cheba Hut, and once it’s gone, it’s gone. The Screwbean Taproom will offer HighPA in both half-pints and pints. Screwbean’s retail location features 10 beers on tap, all brewed on-site.

Screwbean Brewing Tap Takeover Event

Screwbean Brewing will showcase additional beers on April 12 during a tap takeover event at Cheba Hut from 1 to 4 p.m. Guests can enjoy Gabusi Pilsner and Sweetheart Hefeweizen, with flights available for $8.

“We’re going to have flight deals, specials on sandwiches, a talk-to-the-brewers opportunity, and a chance to smell the hops,” Cheba Hut bar manager Randall Lopez said. Tucson Doobie and Tucson Foodie members score $1 off every beer.

Cheers to New Beginnings

As we raise a glass to this local collaboration, we celebrate not only the flavors in our glasses but also the creativity and passion that make the craft beer and cannabis industries so dynamic.

Cheba Hut is located at 446 N. Campbell Ave., Suite 2. Screwbean Brewing is located at 103 N. Park Ave.
